MERCY ETHOS

PHILOSOPHY OF THE COLLEGE
Our Catholic School is committed to the development of the whole person, since in Christ all human values find their fulfilment and unity.  It is Christ who enables us, gives meaning to human life, and is the model we offer pupils.  Our commitment to Christ directs their thoughts, actions and will, according to the gospel.

The school community, parents, students and staff, will benefit from the experience of sharing their personal lives with God, discovering in the light of faith their specific vocation to live responsibly in a community with others.  In the daily life of the school, the pupils should learn that they are called to be a living witness to God’s love for them by the way they act.

Through individual subjects, the students are enabled to assimilate skills, knowledge, intellectual methods, and moral and social attitudes which help to develop their personalities and lead them to take their places as active members of the community.

“Their aim (Catholic schools) is not merely the attainment of knowledge but the acquisition of values and the discovery of truth”. (Vatican II)
