PROGRAMS

Students of St Joseph’s College participate in many programs supporting the College community, the Sacred Heart Parish Community, the Sunraysia Community – as well as the wider community within Victoria, Australia and our Global World.

CARITAS
‘Project Compassion’ raises funds and awareness to Caritas, in the form of monetary donations during Lent. Further information regarding Caritas can be found at http://www.caritas.org.au/

MEALS on WHEELS
As part of the Homeroom Program, all Homerooms of the College participate in the Meals on Wheels program, facilitated by the Mildura Rural City Council and the Mildura Base Hospital. St Joseph’s College delivers meals for 10 weeks of the year to people unable to cook for themselves.

SACRED HEART PARISH SOUP KITCHEN
Senior Students assist with serving food at the Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen. On Monday and Wednesday nights, those in the community who are unable to feed themselves, come to the Soup Kitchen in the Monaghan Centre for a hot meal and company of another.

ST VINCENT De PAUL
Students are encouraged to support the St Vincent DePaul ‘Winter Appeal’; asking for students and families to donate dry packaged good, clothing and warm blankets for those less fortunate than themselves.
ST VINCENT De PAUL CHRISTMAS APPEAL
As part of the Religious Education Program, students are taken to local shops to purchase gifts. Students donate the money to buy the gifts, which are donated, to the Christmas Appeal for those families unable to provide gifts for their children at Christmas.

RELAY FOR LIFE
Each year, many teams of students participate in the Sunraysia Relay for Life held at the Aerodrome Ovals. The Relay for Life raises funds and awareness for Cancer Research.

BLOOD DONATIONS
Many of our VCE student donate blood regular to support the Blood Bank of Australia maintain their blood supply for those in medical need.

LONGEST LUNCH
The Longest Lunch is an event organised and run by the Mildura Rotary Club to raise funds for their Youth Leadership Development Programs.  Students from St Joseph's College assist with the service of food for those attending the lunch.
