CO-CURRICULUM : The Arts

Music

All students study music at Year 7 and by choice in Years 8‐12. Instrumental lessons are offered in a range of instruments and students may elect to join the College Bands and Choirs. Instrumental lessons are offered by private teachers within the school day.

Performing Arts

There are various opportunities throughout the year for students to perform dance and drama at primary schools and aged care facilities.

Fashion Awards

A Fashion Awards evening is held to recognize the wonderful work of students in the Technology (Fibre and Fabric) classes. The Fashion Awards evening is a joint venture of all Sunraysia Secondary Schools.

Visual Arts

VCE students display their work at the end of the year in a public exhibition which is usually held at Gallery 25. Students' work is also chosen to be displayed at the Mildura Art Gallery in a Students' Exhibition.

Debating

Opportunities exist for Year 11 students to represent the College in the Mercy Schools Debating competition - Frayne Speech Festival. Students at other year levels compete in local debating competitions.

Public Speaking

Students are able to enter several Public Speaking including Lions Youth of the Year and Rostrum "Voice of Youth". Other opportunities exist through School Assemblies, the SRC and the Senior Leadership Training programme.
