Welcome to St Joseph's College

The College end of year Mass occurs tomorrow and it is one of the grand occasions in our calendar. We gather as a whole community to give thanks to God for the year that has passed and acknowledge that we are indeed fortunate to have so much opportunity in our school and wider community. In particular, we celebrate with the graduating students of Year 12 who finish a stage of their life journey as a secondary school student and eagerly look forward to their next great adventure. There is often a sense of sadness amongst the staff as we witness the students "leave the nest" as their pathway through secondary school is often a journey shared. The parents in attendance frequently report that it is a most touching occasion. This year's Mass will have a special significance as it will be the last time that Father Matthew presides at one of our College celebrations before leaving to take up his new posting as Parish Priest in Camperdown. Xavier House are co-ordinating this mass in 2009 and considerable time has already been dedicated to ensure it is a memorable occasion. Students should arrive directly at the SJC Stadium at the normal school commencement time and will return to the College at the end of the Mass.
