Student Leadership at St Josephs College is an exciting responsibility with the emphasis on a contribution from the whole student body. Students are involved in a range of activities that they are both honored and delighted to carry out. The School Ball, Sports Days and Masses are all made possible because of the combined effort of the students and staff. At St Josephs every students is encouraged to show their leadership potential and further make school a rewarding experience for themselves and their peers.
In the senior year levels students are able to apply for a range of leadership positions. Including the School Captains who are concerned with a vast array of activities such as organisation of Assemblies. The position of House Captains is also held by senior students whose job is to motivate their houses to be the best they possibly can. Many students take the opportunity to be active members of their Student Representatives Councils; their work includes fundraising and School celebration. St Josephs holds a strong culture of on field leadership where students frequently demonstrate their skills and qualities as leaders.
As well as the official leadership roles held in the school many students choose to display their leadership through less official means. Whether it is the Peer Support Leaders who welcome our new students to the school or those that strive to achieve their best and improve the school environment. These students are valued at St Josephs because they lead by example.
Lastly at St Josephs we are aware that everyone is different in their own way and thus every leader is special. Some students strive for organization and control whilst others are happy to put forward their ideas. Working alongside their teachers it is expected that every students be capable of leadership to some extent. Therefore when it comes to students leadership at St Josephs we are all in it together.
