The welcome addition of new beehives to our community garden has transformed St Joseph’s College a literal ‘hive of activity’.
—Three hives, to be precise!
VCAL students will use honey produced by the busy bees when they prepare a three-course Paddock-to-Plate luncheon to raise money for local charities later in the year.
The WDEA Works Foundation awarded our VCAL program a $5000.00 funding grant to purchase the bees and their hives. St Joseph’s College is honoured to be included among organisations which receive these grants for creating employment and inclusion opportunities for people of all levels of ability in Victoria’s western district.
