Mercy Week 2020

‘We should be shining lamps, giving light to all around us.’ – Catherine McAuley

The final week of Term 3 is Mercy Week, a time when we honour the past, celebrate the present, and imagine the future as part of a greater reflection on our college’s Mercy Mission and Values.

This year, we thought it fitting to start our celebration on R U OK?Day, a day that Catherine McAuley herself would have appreciated. A social justice champion ahead of her time, Catherine knew the value of human compassion and how vital it is to offer whatever support we can, whenever we can.

Since we cannot attend our customary Mercy Liturgy together as a college, we have filmed the Liturgy so that everyone can enjoy it online. Following a ceremony led by Fr Matthew Thomas, Sr Carmel shares her personal Mercy journey, ‘giving light’ as Catherine McAuley encouraged.

We invite everyone to celebrate Mercy Week with the college. Share your shining light by spending time with family as you are able and checking in on friends and loved ones whenever possible.
