One of Australia’s brightest young racing drivers, 26-year-old Mildura-born Waters is a graduate of karting, the youngest ever winner of the Australian Formula Ford Championship and also the youngest ever driver – at just 17 – to contest the prestigious Bathurst 1000 V8 Supercar event.
Waters dominated the 2015 Dunlop V8 Supercar Championship, while he also contested the 2014 and 2015 endurance events with Tickford Racing, before replacing the injured Chaz Mostert late in 2015 for a handful of events.
2016 saw Waters make his full-time debut at V8 Supercar Championship level, driving the Monster Energy Tickford run Falcon FG-X on an initial two-year agreement.
Now in his sixth year driving the Monster-backed Mustang Waters’ career-best qualifying sees him having recorded seven pole positions, and personal best race finishes of first – on three occasions, while he also claimed second place at last year’s Bathurst 1000, matching this position with his highest ever championship points position.
Added to his already impressive tally, Waters has amassed 30 podium finishes and was last year voted by his peers as Supercars most-popular and sporting driver.
In addition to his Supercar exploits, and to keep himself sharp, Waters also races a fearsomely fast, 800-horsepower Sprint Car at some of Australia’s most-popular speedways.
Away from the track, Waters loves keeping fit, spending time wakeboarding and water skiing, while he also has a passion for radio-controlled cars and planes.
