After a relatively busy week that featured the End of Year Mass, Year 12 Graduation and Graduation Dinner, this week felt rather subdued. Of course, while everyone looks forward to things winding down, there’s still work to do and activities underway:

  • After finishing their VO exams last week, the Year 11 Class of 2023 travelled to Melbourne on Monday for Novus, five fantastic days of city adventures. This excursion gives the students opportunities to form the close friendships they will need during their senior school years as they experience so much of what the ‘big smoke’ has to offer.
  • The Year 9s started their holidays on Wednesday afternoon. This cohort has worked so hard this year, and we are so proud of them. Well done.
  • Next week, the excitement builds again when the spotlight shifts to special activities for Years 7 and 8, along with the College Awards Night at the Mercy Theatre on 8 December.

I recently came across a quote attributed to writer Agnes M Pharo. I think you’ll agree that it captures the essence of our heart’s desire during the holidays.

What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace.

Along with the quote, I thought I would spread some more Christmas cheer by sharing photos of another gorgeous tree at the Mercy Campus. – So much colour ‘in bloom’ is wonderful to behold, especially at this time of year.

God bless.
