Year 7 & Year 8 Transition Days

Our students in Years 7 and 8 finished their final week with presentations, preparations for 2023, and a pool party to celebrate the end of an amazing year of learning. The cohorts swapped campuses on Monday and Tuesday for their Transition Days.

Mercy Campus:

  • Monday (5/12): The Year 7 students participated in a ‘Mission to Mars’. On this activity-filled day, Year 11 students prepared and conducted several themed sessions overseen by teachers for the Year 7 students. By all accounts, the mission was a great success.
  • Tuesday (6/12): The Mercy Introduction/Orientation Day allowed the Year 7 cohort to experience an average day in the life of a Year 8 student.

Enright Campus:

  • Monday (5/12): As part of their transition into Year 9, the Year 8 students participated in the fifth annual STEAM Day. Students participated in activities designed to illustrate the intersections between Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Using Virtual Reality, constructing towers out of matchsticks, navigating an escape room, and exploring the world of the future tests their problem-solving skills and helps them become flexible, adaptive learners. –STEAM paves the way to the careers of tomorrow.
  • Tuesday (6/12): Much like their Year 7 classmates, the Year 8 cohort discovered what a Year 9 student timetable looks like.

On Wednesday, both groups attended a liturgy at Sacred Heart Church before heading to Irymple Pool for the remainder of the day. This special treat was a wonderful way to reward our youngest learners for a fantastic year.

College Awards Night

On Thursday evening, we recognised so many amazing student achievements across all year levels at our annual Awards Night held in the Mercy Theatre. Congratulations to all award winners for exceeding expectations in everything from Sports to Science and more. Find the full list of winners here.
