A St Joseph’s College Catholic education offers more than boundless possibilities to young people. Our curriculum, co-curriculum, and Mercy Core Values come together to create experiences that educate the ‘whole person’ by helping students grow emotionally, socially, mentally, and spiritually.

When a young person graduates from the college, they stand confidently as a resilient adult with a personal faith practice that will support them for the rest of their lives.

St Joseph the Worker Feast Day

You may recall from last week’s blog post that this past week was Catholic Education Week and that the college’s patron saint is St Joseph the Worker. The college celebrated this cherished relationship beginning with a special Feast Day Mass on Wednesday 1 May. The celebrations continued Thursday 2 May with three Term 2 highlights: the Cross Country Carnival, the Feast Day Stalls, and the Carpenters Classic Concert.

Congratulations to MacKillop House for winning the Carnival and to all our age group winners who will go on to represent the college in the upcoming interschool contests. I commend all students who competed for their Houses and got into the friendly spirit of the Cross Country Carnival. Well done.

After expending so much energy all morning, everyone moved to the Mercy Campus to refuel and have fun playing games at the Feast Day Stalls. Next, students and staff prepared to perform and cheer one another on at the Carpenters Classic Concert. Have a look at the photos below and you will see examples of both excellent performances and the great sense of humour our community shares.

Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences

Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences are next week, on Tuesday 7 May. Thanks to all parents who have already booked these important meetings. If you have not already done so, you can book a meeting with one or more of your child’s teachers via PAM today. The college looks forward to developing a positive home-school relationship with each of our families.

In the spirit of hope and faith,

Mr Greg Kluske
College Principal
