St Joseph’s College welcomed guests to our annual Father’s Day Breakfast this very morning, Friday 4 September. It was an honour to host some of the the important men in our students’ lives, along with Mr Kevin Sheedy AO, our guest speaker. Stay tuned for next week’s blog post to see all the highlights.
Snow Camp
The Year 11 cohort left for Perisher on Sunday 23 August and spent the week on the slopes taking on new challenges, strengthening friendships, and bonding out of the classroom. As you can see from the selection of photos below, we were fortunate to have sunny days and mostly clear skies. It was a pleasure to see our students impress themselves throughout the week and amass fond memories.
2027 Student Leaders
Yesterday, Thursday 3 September, we held elections for 2027 College Captain positions. Earlier on the same day, the candidates gave speeches to their classmates in which they outlined what they can offer as leaders.
I was pleased to see that each candidate applied what they learned in the Year 11 Leadership Session during Week 6. (You will find more about that in the latest issue of Community.) We will officially announce our 2027 College Captains and Vice-Captains later in the year.
Week 9 Arrangements
The Year 7 cohort will leave for their camp in Victor Harbor on Monday 7 September. While they are away, the Year 8 cohort will relocate to Enright Campus from 7 to and including 10 September. They will then finish the week at the Mercy Campus on Friday 11 September. The below letter was sent out on 11 August and includes all the relevant information.
Happy Father’s Day
I am a proud father of three daughters and am looking forward to celebrating Father’s Day with them this weekend. I would like to wish all fathers, along with grandfathers, uncles and other fatherly figures in our community a very happy Father’s Day for this Sunday, 6 September. Thank you for being such positive and inspiring role models for our young people and supporting the College. As parents, we make lasting impressions that encourage our children to strive for more and be true to themselves.
I hope that you enjoy spending time with your families and relaxing on this special day.
In the spirit of hope and faith,
Mr Greg Kluske
